Mary Weatherill (1834-1913)

The eldest daughter of George Weatherill, Mary also lived in Whitby, Yorkshire, and worked in a similar vein. However, she travelled widely, making sketching tours to France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Norway. The resulting landscapes and coastal subjects, many of which have strong effects of sunlight, were exhibited in London galleries between 1858 and 1880.
