The White Tower (Ted Tetzlaff, USA, 1950) was based on a novel of the same name by James Ramsey Ullman. Carla Alten (Alida Valli) gathers together a disparate group of people, including an American pilot (Glenn Ford), to climb the near impossible ascent of a Swiss mountain, and so fulfill the dream of her father, who died in the attempt.
