Louis Wain’s popularity and reputation seems to be soaring following Studio Canal’s film The Electrical Life of Louis Wain, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, and now the biography of Louis Wain by Chris Beetles has become a bestseller since publication in the Far East.
The exhibition returns to its traditional place in August where the select pictures will be on display on the gallery walls for two weeks.
The supporting cast of famous cat artists will be at their very best:
Lesley Anne Ivory stars with 20 fine masterpieces, most of which are from her archive and have not been seen for many years; the late Susan Herbert’s Private Collection has given up four previously unexhibited gems, and the finest contemporary spontaneous recorders of feline idiosyncrasy and grace Geraldine Girvan and Lesley Fotherby add six impressive cat images each to top off the delightful display.
