Chris Beetles Gallery invites you to A Love of the Land, a new exhibition of 83 artworks by Thomas Hennell RWS.

The exhibition demonstrates the spontaneous and lyrical use of watercolour by this remarkable artist, who was associated with the Great Bardfield group of artists that included Edward Bawden and Eric Ravilious.

Thomas Hennell replaced Eric Ravilious as Official War Artist in 1942, and the exhibition incorporates an important group of recordings of places and participants during the years of War, before he was killed in action in 1945 at the age of 42.
