David Bintley devised this choreographic interpretation of Christopher Marlowe’s play, which tells of the downfall of the fourteenth-century king.
The music is by John McCabe, and the design by Peter J Davison (for the sets) and Jasper Conran (the costumes). Originally commissioned by Stuttgart Ballet, and premiered by that company in 1995, it was first performed by Birmingham Royal Ballet in 1998.
