Writer and publisher, John Hadfield (1907-1999), is perhaps best remembered as the editor of the eccentric and engrossing annual, The Saturday Book. His brother, Miles Hadfield (1903-1982), was a distinguished garden historian. They collaborated together on The Twelve Days of Christmas (1961), a comprehensive book of Christmas lore, and Gardens of Delight (1964), both published by Cassell.
