Typed note on original backboard: this painting is by Albert Goodwin and was owned by his daughter Olive. she was his third daughter and died in 1971, aged 84. the picture then passed into the possession of Mrs Balding MBE of Blewsbury, her father Lieut-Col Charles Burnell, being the son tof the artist's sister. The painting depicts the beach at Hele in North Devon.
