By 1980, Bargemon had become Peter's established base in the south of France, However, in 1983 Peter Coker rented the first of several apartments at the Villa Clos du Peyronnet, near Menton. The villa was surrounded by a magnificent garden including a grand double staircase flanked by large terracotta pots and an imposing, enclosed bamboo pathway.
