THIS IS A SOUVENIR OF JOHN CONSTABLE'S SALISBURY CATHEDRAL FROM THE CLOSE, WHICH WAS PAINTED IN 1820. IT ENTERED THE COLLECTIONS OF THE VICTORIA AND ALBERT MUSEUM IN 1888, AS PART OF THE BEQUEST OF CONSTABLE'S DAUGHTER, ISABEL.
